Principal Bio: 1973 Graduate of Lamar County High School in Vernon, Alabama.  1978 Graduate of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL.  1989 graduate of Auburn University in Montgomery in School Administration.  I am working in my 29th year in education with 28 of those years coming in Tallassee.  I have been the principal at SMS for 14 years.  I have a deep respect for the history and traditions of Tallassee.  My family and I have lived in Tallassee for the last 24 years.  This is home and the place in which I will eventually retire.

Principal Philosophy:  I am convinced that all students can learn regardless of their aptitude or socioeconomic status.  Southside will provide an education that is responsive to the needs of all the students that enter.  We will try to provide a well-rounded program to meet the developmental needs of our students.

Educational Test Results/Ranking: SMS has consistently met or exceeded the national average in the all testing areas.  We have made our Adequate Yearly Progress goals each year.  We are mindful that there are areas of improvement that we will continue to strive to improve.
